Why startups
Get exposure to startups.
The riskiest asset class on earth, and still the one with non-linear outcomes. The trick is how you hold it.

Why a portfolio
Most startups die. A few go 10x, 100x, even 1000x.
The losses are limited to the amount invested. The gains can almost be uncapped. So the ideal way to generate returns is to invest in a higher number of startups, instead of a few big ticket bets.
“Angel bets and venture bets are great because they have non-linear outcomes in the positive, but on the downside you can only lose 1x (where x is your investment). On the upside, you can make 10,000x.”
Decide your ticket
Deciding one’s preferred ticket size is important.
Typically it should be 5% to 10% of the amount you want to invest in startups in the next 12 months.
Smaller budget
Smaller budget should not mean lesser number of deals.
Invest smaller amounts in more startups. That is how VC funds do it.

The notices
I've been investing with Misfits for about a year. I appreciate their investment approach & their reasons for selecting startups. My trust in Amit's judgment has grown during this time. This makes it comfortable for me to commit my money to their systematic allocation plan.
